About Bettye Martin Musham
Bettye Martin Musham has had many careers and many interests. A North Carolina Tar Heel, she graduated from Duke University's School of Nursing and gained a certificate in midwifery from Hammersmith Hospital in London the following year.
A brief stint at New York Lying-In Hospital was followed by a very wildly successful job representing photographers.
This lead to a positions in two advertising agencies from which she was recruited to become the North American manager for Louis Vuitton. An interest in retail evolved so she co-founded New Country Gear, Gear Holdings, Inc. which revolutionized the home furnishing industry through branding strategies. Clients flocked from America, Europe and Japan to learn the importance of branding.
Bettye Martin Musham served on several corporate and non profit boards. She was a founding member of the Duke Islamic Studies Center and sits on the Duke University School of Nursing Board of Advisors. She has been a member of the Council of Foreign Relations since the early 1980's and is active in Democratic politics. She resides in Bucks County, PA and New York City.
